Jasper

Okay, time for a massive catch up.  So much has happened, so many things have changed!

First - we found our GQ.  Pretty soon after losing the one in Sydney.

Jasper - named after the colour we hope to eventually paint him, is a 1988 GQ Nissan Patrol.  Engine, for those interested:  TD42.

When we bought him, he had 3 rows of seats, 7 seater.  But for our purposes we removed the back row, creating a more camping friendly setup.

  • 3 x galvanized steel drawers for camping supplies
  • 80 litre fridge/freezer on pull out slide
  • Rear side windows replaced with black perspex hatches accessing storage areas.
  • Plugs on dash for all the gadgets - 3 x lighter plugs and one 240v socket
  • ARB bullbar and rear bar
  • Rhino racks
  • Sequential turbo system
  • 3.5 inch straight through exhaust
  • Custom air filter box and snorkel

Here are some photos of the work in progress.
Luckily there was room on our back patio, so all the work could be done at home.
No room in the garage - full of machining tools!
